Description:
An embodiment of self-worth and sacred clarity, Linked in Gold stands as a desert-born reflection of lineage, transformation, and grace. Rooted yet unbound, the figure emerges adorned in golden chains that no longer confine—but illuminate. Layers of green, ochre, and sunlit yellow rise around her, echoing resilience and reverence. Her presence is steady, sovereign, and complex—guarded yet open, adorned yet unshaken. This piece honors what it means to carry one's story with pride: to bloom in the harshest landscapes and still shine with soft power.
POEM:
I stand where the desert blooms— rooted in the echoes of my mother’s voice, woven into the shades of sun and sky. No longer bound, but linked. Chains turned bridges, heavy once… now light with knowing. My hair holds the colors of many, my lips speak in crimson certainty. I wear my emotions like waves— a tide that moves, but never drowns me. The green hums, heart wide and open. Yellow flowers rise like dawn. And the gold? Oh, the gold shines not as weight— but as worth. I see, but I shield. I feel, but I stand. I am pieced together, yet whole. A desert-born daughter, a storm-worn woman, a story still unfolding.
