Mother’s Roots
A tribute to my mother, who left her home country of Ecuador as a young girl — carving a path of expansion through action and lived experience. She created a new life from which more stories could unfold. I stand in awe of my mother and her roots.

This piece is a depiction of modern roots. As someone mixed, born and raised in the United States, I’ve always felt connected to many cultures — and I find that beautiful. This season marks a turning point, a deeper journey into bridging identity and ancestry.

There are many ethnicities flowing through this vessel of mine, and I find it remarkable how, over time, these blended ingredients have created a unique recipe — one I continue to discover.
